Barry "The Panman"
"Tropico" Solo Steel Pan includes Barry "The Panman" performing on Double Seconds as a "One Man Band," along with vocals and background tracks with the music of Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Jimmy Buffett, Christmas, and strolling steel pan. Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, UB 40, Harry Belafonte, George Benson, Disney, limbo, Calypso, Reggae, all the music you love to hear on steel pans. Barry has been performing on steel drums since 1986 after attending a workshop at the University of Georgia where he studied steel drums with Ellie Mannette, one of the pivotal figures in the creation of the modern steel drum instrument. Barry has performed around the south eastern US as a solo playing private and corporate events, restaurants and weddings and around the country and also travels and plays steel drums with The Conch Fritters. Currently Barry is Executive Director of CST Entertainment Productions LLC and director and instructor of CST School of Percussion. He has spent many years traveling to Trinidad and Tobago to continue his study of steel drums.
